Face-to-Face 'Beginners' and 'Improvers' Bridge Classes from September 2024

BEGINNERS

This course is suitable for students who have not played bridge before or those who may have played a long time ago but feel that they need a complete refresher course.

Day and Time:  Mondays from 7.15 pm to 9.15 pm

BEGINNERS' CONTINUATION CLASS

This course is suitable for students who have recently completed a first year beginners' course and for those who have basic bridge knowledge and would like some refresher lessons in order to build upon what they already know. 

Day and Time:  Tuesdays 10.30 am to 12.30 pm

IMPROVERS

These lessons are suitable for students who have completed a beginners' course and want to develop their bidding and playing skills.

Day and Time:  Fridays from 10.00 am to 12.15 pm

Start Date:  This class is currently running and will continue to run from September 2024.  New students are always welcome to join.

Face-to-Face Supervised Bridge Sessions - Mondays at 10.30 am, Wednesdays at 7.00 pm and Thursdays at 1.45 pm

MONDAY MORNING ‘CHICAGO’ (10.30 am to 12.30 pm) 

This session, supervised by Jonathan Spry, is for players of all standards.  You will stay at one table and play a series of boards at your own pace.  You will be able to discuss the hands and you can ask for help and use your crib sheets. 

You can come along with or without a partner. 

 

WEDNESDAY IMPROVERS (7.00 pm

This session which is run by Sandra and Julian Hayward is for players who would like to improve their bridge and play in a supervised duplicate tournament.  The session begins with a short talk, given by Sandra, after which a 12-board tournament is played.  Players may have their crib sheets with them, during play, and ask for help with their bidding.

You can come along with or without a partner.

 

THURSDAY AFTERNOON 'STEPPING STONES’ (1.45 pm to 4.00 pm) 

This friendly two-hour session will provide an introduction to duplicate bridge for those unfamiliar with the format or for those wanting to improve their game prior to attending regular club duplicate sessions.  Players will have the opportunity to learn through supervised play, discussion and the reviewing of handsIt is also suitable for anyone wanting to play 'Chicago' as the format is very similar.  

You can come along with or without a partner.
